Grow Status February 16, 2008 with the Procyon Prototype
This is the end of the first test with the Procyon Prototype.
I'm very pleased with the results.
The
plant grew fast, large and produced 239 tomatoes. The final photo shows 70 more
tomatoes I picked today. Some are still green, but they'll ripen and won't go to
waste. I really can't find any documention
as to how many tomatoes this variety should produce, but seeing how it's a miniature
bush-type, I'd say that's good for indoors...I'll take that number!
The photos below show some aftermath photos. A lot of the root brown is stained
from using Liquid Karma as this stuff is black and thick. There is of course some
dead root matter. One thing I noticed is my Air pump had stopped pumping air into
the tank and I really don't know when that happened. The pump was running but the
nipple where the air hose was attached was busted, so no air was getting to the
stones. I'm sure this caused some of that root deadness and the leaves dying off
toward the end (determinates do this anyway). This pump brand name is 'Aquatic Gardens'
which I got at Pet's Plus a long while back. I suggest not buying this brand. The
hose hookup manifold is plastic, thus the breakage. The rest of my pumps are EcoPlus
Air pumps and they have a brass manifold hookup and are much better pumps.
Summary - totally Blue/Red LED tomato grow with a lot of tomatoes. I'm happy with the results so in my opinion...Success!
