Grow Enclosure
Here's a few photos of the grow enclosure newly built. It measures 6'L x 3'D x 7'H. Fairly cheap as the entire framework is made with 1x4 and 1x6 Pine lumber. Top, sides and vertical support are made from two 1x pine boards glued together at 90 degrees to form L channels. The cieling and table top frames are made from 1x2s and glued into square sections that slide on top of the L channels. Turned out to be a real sturdy design.
The table surface is made from engineered snap together strip flooring that looks like wood. It is superdurable and water-proof. The most expensive part was the aluminum blinds. Aluminum blinds are needed if you want to filter out the light. I wanted to do this as it's in the corner of my office space and those LEDS get pretty bright after a while. The blinds work great. I tried the cheaper plastic blinds and they don't filter out enough light. About $70 dollars for both the 6' and 3' blinds. The entire grow chamber cost me about $150.00.
I still need to install some White Panda Film on the inside walls of the grow chamber. This has high reflective qualities and is easy to clean with a damp cloth. I haven't found decent floor covering to put under it yet so I don't ruin the floor with a spill or leak.
I think it came out okay. It seems to go nicely with the pine boards that were already installed on my basement walls.
It looks pretty cool at night with the shades down and all the lights on. Gives my entire room a purply glow, but the shades keep it from getting too bright. It is a comfortable glow. I have to worry about these things. It isn't hidden away and I have to live in the same room with it. The photos tend to make the chamber look much more brighter from the outside than it really is.
